MALOLOS CITY (PIA) — Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel has once again assured farmers in Bulacan that the Marcos administration will not stop supporting them in increasing rice production and strengthening their competitiveness in the market.

Immediate responses include the deployment of National Food Authority (NFA) and local government trucks to directly collect harvested rice from farms.

Plans are also underway to build additional rice mills and rice dryers with the help of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund.

Likewise, there is an intensified push for the use of organic fertilizers to avoid the high cost of commercial fertilizers and pesticides.

Laurel was in Bulacan Monday morning for a dialogue with local farmers. (CLJD/SFV, PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
