CITY OF MALOLOS – Notable Bulakenyos were once again recognized and awarded by the Provincial Government of Bulacan during the annual Singkaban Festival’s Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2024 that was held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here last Sunday.

Alejandro H. Tengco, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation and a native of Malolos, was recognized as one of the 12 Natatanging Bulakenyo awardees where he was cited for his excellence in the field of Community Service.

Other Dangal ng Lipi awardees include Dr. Herman Roy C. Cruz, Jr. from the City of Malolos (Agriculture); Dr. Nathaniel T. Servando from the City of San Jose Del Monte (Science and Technology); Felicidad P. Galang-Perena from Calumpit (Education); Edgardo B. Santiago from Bulakan (Arts and Culture); Ernesto O. Cordero from Obando (Bulacan Expatriate); Dr. Juanito S. Javier from the City of Malolos (Health); Conrado T. Onglao from the City of Malolos and Bulakan (Trade and Industry); Claro S. Cristobal from Bulakan (Professional); Atty. Florentino P. Manalastas, Jr. from San Miguel (Public Service); Jocelyn D. Reyes from San Ildefonso (Entrepreneur); and Mario G. Lipana from San Ildefonso (Professional).

Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando acknowledged and honored the collective efforts of Bulakenyos who stayed committed to the values, principles, and heritage passed down by their ancestors.

“Sa makasaysayang araw na ito, ay bibigyang pagkilala ng ating lalawigan ang mga natatanging ginoo at ginang na naghayag ng pasasalamat sa ating lalawigan, hindi sa pamamagitan ng salita, bagkus ay sa pamamagitan ng makabuluhang gawa at lumikha ng pitak ng kadakilaan sa kani-kaniyang larangan. Bagaman, iilan lamang ang kanilang bilang, ang parangal na ito ay kumikilala rin sa pangkalahatan, sa pagsusumikap ng bawat karaniwang Bulakenyong nanatiling totoo sa mga simulain, paniniwala at iniwang legasiya ng ating mga ninuno,” Fernando said.
