Bulacan Cultural Costume Competition (Doll Edition) all set to dazzle Bulakenyos

CITY OF MALOLOS – Prepare to be dazzled as the Bulacan Cultural Costume Competition (Doll Edition), one of the many exciting events during this year’s Singkaban Festival, will be on display from September 10 to 13, 2024, at 10 a.m. at SM Center in Pulilan.

These include the masterpieces of the talented entrants who made it to the top 24 comprising of Angat’s very own Emmanuel R. Caleon, the artistic sensation from Balagtas, Drake Cojuangco, and the creative genius from the City of Baliwag, Mikko Bryan Buenaventura. Other notable artists in the lineup are Marlon DG Fuentes from Bocaue, Marbin Garcia from Bulakan, and Kim Bulos from Bustos.

The exhibition will also feature works by Johnn Errol P. Pascual from Calumpit, Frederick Benito from DRT, and Daniel Feliciano A. Gonzales from Guiguinto. Not to mention the talents of Juan Karlo from Hagonoy, Dhomz Oliveros Alfonso from the City of Malolos, and Alvin Ray from Marilao.

And let’s not forget about Patrick S. Bernardino from the City of Meycauayan, Eduardo E. Basbas from Norzagaray, and Mikho M. Gaspar from Obando. Elmer Dela Rosa Santos from Pandi, Rasnelle Torres from Paombong, and Lean Robert M. Abejuela from Plaridel will also be showcasing their incredible art.

Also, there’s the creativity of Benjie Damasco from Pulilan, Nhikkie Manansala Tenorio from San Ildefonso, Lennard Jaqe Zarih M. Climaco from CSJDM, and John Mark Noel Blas from San Miguel. And last but certainly not least, we have Marie Linoy from San Rafael and Jerome Nicolas Tiongson from Santa Maria.

Organized by the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office, this event aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and historical heroes of Bulacan while showcasing the local arts, traditions, and festivals of each city and municipality in the province through intricately designed costumes for Barbie dolls created by talented Bulakenyo designers.

The winners of the Cultural Costume Competition will be taking home a whopping P35,000 for the first place, P25,000 for second place and P15,000 for the third place. Each winner will also receive a shiny trophy to proudly display their victory.

Also, three lucky consolation winners will each receive P8,000 for their efforts.

Winners will be judged according to the following criteria: 70% for craftsmanship, design, and creativity, while the remaining 30% is all about overall appearance.
