CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE– The young and skilled workforce of this city also makes Bulacan and Central Luzon an industrial giant, re-electionist Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino said here on Friday during the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas first grand senatorial campaign in the region.

In a press conference at Savano Hotel, he said Bulacan is privileged as the hub of the Pharma Zone where major pharmaceutical companies in the Philippines operate.

According to the senator, the completion of the MRT-7 and the proximity of Bulacan and the rest of Central Luzon to Metro Manila makes the region a major dynamic center of growth.

He said the City of San Jose del Monte for one, which has the largest population among the 24 towns and cities in Bulacan and is adjacent to Metro Manila, has a major potential to become a highly progressive and developed city.

“San Jose del Monte’s young and skilled workforce are great contributions to Bulacan and the whole of Central Luzon’s more reinvigorated economy and as a vital measure to help decongest Metro Manila,” he said.

LITAW Law

In a speech during the grand rally proclamation at the City College of San Jose del Monte, the senator said his proposed law that will benefit the public in their daily basic needs–Liwanag, Internet, Tubig, Assistance and Welfare (LITAW) is already approved in the senate and is just waiting to be signed by the President.

The law, he said, will allow families and individuals who are victims of typhoons and other calamities to prioritize fixing their houses and properties that were damaged and extend leeway in paying their water, internet and electricity bills.

“Isinusulong ko po ang LITAW law, ngayon po ay waiting na lang po sa pirma ng Presidente. Ang batas po na ito ay para doon sa mga dumaan sa kalamidad, hindi muna kayo magbabayad ng kuryente, ipaayos muna ninyo ang inyong nasirang bahay, ang magbabayad po ay si LITAW,” he addressed tens of thousands of crowd of Alyansa supporters.

Tolentino said LITAW is the recent version of the “3 gives law” payment of electricity he introduced during the pandemic in 2020.

The senator who is also a lawyer and who previously held a key position in the  National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) is also pushing for a law that will give a 20% discount in the payment for the internet usage of the students.

Accomplishments for Bulacan

In an interview with Bulacan-based reporters, he said he was behind the creation of a congressional district for Guiguinto town and the cityhood of Baliwag including the institutionalization of the Tanglawan Festival in the City of San Jose del Monte.

Recently, according to the senator, he had created a law for the construction of a hospital and a medical school in Bulacan Agricultural College in San Ildefonso town.

The senator thanked the people of San Jose del Monte and the whole province of Bulacan for voting for him in the 2019 elections. He asked for their continued support not only for himself but for the whole Alyansa senatorial candidates.

“Kung tutulungan ninyo kami, gagaan ang mga gawain at panukala ng ating Pangulo bilang bahagi ng Alyansa, gagaan ang tungkulin ng mga senador at ng Pangulo para sa mahal nating Republika,” he ended his speech.
