CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan—Two anti-illegal drugs policemen assigned in Bocaue town were gunned down by unidentified suspect during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tugatog, NIA Road, Barangay Tambubong noon on Saturday.
Poloce Maj. Jaynalyn A. Udal, Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO) Information Officer identified the victims as Police Staff Sgts. Dennis Cudiamat and Gian George Dela Cruz, both assigned at the drug enforcment unit of Bocaue Municipal Police Station and also both residents of Barangay Poblacion.
The two police officers were enforcinh a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tugatog when unidentified armed male suspect, suddenly shot Dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz then suffered gun shot wounds in different parts of his body. Cudiamat then tried to retaliate and pursued the suspect but he was shot dead through a bullet on his head.
Dela Cruz was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival, Udal said in a report.
The suspect then took Cudiamat’s service firearm and escaped towards Pandi town.
Police have already launched a manuhunt against the suspect. They are also now reviewing footages of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) in Bocaue and Pandi areas to track down the suspect.
