SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan—An Information Technology (IT) staff of third district congressional candidate Victor Silverio, son of Third District Rep. Lorna Silverio, his girlfriend and a body guard were killed in an ambush along Maharlika Highway in this town on Friday.
Bryan Villaflor and his still unidentified security personnel died instantaneously while his unidentified girlfriend was declared dead on arrival at a nearest hospital in the town.
Silverio told NEWSCORE Bulacan in a phone interview that reports that reached her said the victims were traversing the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Capihan, San Rafael at around past 3:00 pm on board a colored Black Ford Everest driven by the security personnel when heavily armed men on board colored black Toyota Rav-4 and Mitsubishi Montero suddenly blocked their path and strafed them with bullets.
The still unidentified gun men alighted from their vehicles and pounded on the victims.
Based on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage, the suspects fired successive shots leaving the victim’s vehicle riddled with bullets.
Silverio said reports that reached her calculated the number of fires to have reached more than 50.
According to the congresswoman, Villaflor, a resident of Poblacion, San Ildefonso town with the two other victims came from his house and were bound to a supermarket in Baliwag City when they were attacked by the gun men.
“He is our IT man. He is working in our team, for the candidacy of Victor,” Silverio said.
