MARILAO,  Bulacan—Motorists woes of heavy traffic congesttion in the northbound lanes of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation ended early dawn today as it opened all its four lanes ahead of the targeted schedule by the end of the month.

“We are pleased to announce that all four lanes of Marilao Northbound are now passable to vehicles since 1 a.m. of March 26, 2025, ahead of the projected schedule.,” NLEX Corp said in a statement.

However, while all lanes are now passable, supporting steel poles for the Marilao Interchange Bridge will remain on the lanes to allow concrete curing of the bridge. With this development, traffic flow in Marilao Northbound is expected to improve and normalize in the next few days.

The expected normalization of the traffic came just about a week after the Marilao bridge was severely damaged.

On March 19, the Marilao Bridge sustained damage from a truck violating regulations, causing traffic flow changes to facilitate ongoing repairs and ensure motorists’ safety.

Originally scheduled for completion in two weeks, NLEX accelerated the repairs, with teams working around the clock and with the expedited delivery of the fabricated steel needed for the bridge.

“We thank the motoring public for their utmost understanding and patience while repairs were ongoing. Rest assured that NLEX continues to intensify safety and traffic measures in key areas of the expressway to ensure the safety and convenience of our valued customers,” the NLEX also said in their statement.
