Indigenous Peoples are now facing a great challenge. The ever-worsening crisis of the global capitalist system has led to the widespread destruction of ancestral lands, Indigenous farmworkers are exploited multiple times over, and we are seeing fascism in its worst forms– to make matters more grave, these crises are happening on a planet continually threatened by irreversible climate catastrophe.

The worst of these are seen in wars of aggression that continue to break out in different parts of the world. Global North powers like the United States continue to ramp up their military capacity in a race to defeat their rivals like China and Russia, and come out as the world’s most powerful.

Global military spending has seen an alarming spike in 2024, with a 9.4% increase compared to 2023– the largest rise since the Cold War.

Counterinsurgency wars are being doubled in power, Indigenous peoples and the oppressed are being used as cannon fodders in the rivalry between the world’s most powerful, and imperialist-sponsored militarism is heightened to further the plunder of Indigenous Peoples resources. In Palestine, West Papua, the Philippines, India, Sudan, the DRC (Democractic Republic of Congo), Myanmar and many parts of the world, ancestral lands and territories are being used as theaters of war to advance the imperialist agenda. Driven by the desperation to get out of crisis, the world’s rulers are driving the world to the brink of destruction once more.

This escalation in imperialist war and militarism, coupled with heightened land-theft, plunder, and fascism, warrants us Indigenous Peoples to further boost and strengthen our ranks. So on #IDWIP2025 we raise our banners high with the call “Indigenous Peoples, Fight for our future! Intensify the fight against imperialist war, plunder, and oppression!”

On August 09, 2025 let the sound of our resistance echo louder than the imperialist war machine. Rally the halls of power that threaten our rights, hold noise barrages, cultural performances, and other forms of protest to challenge the dominance of imperialist-war and militarism. Join the Indigenous People’s Global Day of Action Against Imperialist Wars of Aggression & Plunder! Let our resistance be LOUDER THAN BOMBS!
