CITY OF MALOLOS–Residents were assured by President Marcos Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas senatoriables of a senate investigation on their concerns about the services of Prime Water during a press conference in this capital city on Wednesday.
Former Senator Panfilo Lacson expressed support to the people of Bulacan over the reported poor services and lack of water supply in this city, City of San Jose del Monte, Marilao, San Ildefonso and other areas where Prime Water operates.
In a press conference at the e-Library of the Bulacan State University (BulSU), Lacson referred the water problem of the people of Bulacan to the traditional saying that “losing electricity at night time is even better than not having water supply during day time”.
“May kasabihan nga po tayo na hindi bale na tayong mawalan ng kuryente sa gabi, huwag lang mawalan ng tubig sa araw”.
According to Lacson, water concerns are not only experienced in Bulacan but even in other places and thereby needs investigation by the congress and the senate. “We will conduct our own senate inquiry on why there are lack of sufficient supply of water,” he said.
Also, the Alyansa senatoriable asked residents to wait for the result of the ongoing investigation being conducted by Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).
Similarly returning former senator Tito Sotto under Alyansa ticket said that water service companies who deliver poor services must be replaced. “Water is very important because it is a basic need. Why do you need to sacrifice from a poor service or the failure to deliver in satisfaction. It would be better to just replace it,” he said.
Former television news anchor ACT CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo said that franchise is also a major issue about service companies including water. He said there is a need for them to review the 25 year franchise of companies which could not deliver best services to the people.
Earlier, Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and Vice Governor Alexis Castro lamented a poor service of Prime Water Company to their customers in Bulacan based on mounting complaints that have reached their respective offices in the Capitol.
President Marcos had ordered LWUA to conduct a probe on the said issues.
