CITY OF MALOLOS– The Bulacan Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (BFJODA) marked a significant milestone on November 25, 2024, as it held the election of its new set of officers during the Bulacan Transport Summit and Christmas Party held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
Ricardo R. Turla was elected as the new Chairperson, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to improve the jeepney transport system. Rogelio C. Carlos will serve as Vice Chairperson, working alongside an esteemed Board of Directors that includes Romeo C. Adriano, Sherwin L. Decena, Mamerto D.T. De Leon Jr., Donato D. Espe Jr., Vicente S. Esteban, Fernando M. Evangelista, Mario F. Gregorio, Allan O. Oliquiano, Danilo D.L. Pangan, Marlon P. Pascual, Edwin B. Quizon, Edgardo S.D. Tolentino, and Leo Arceo.
Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando wished the officers to continuously unite with a goal of uplifting the sector, promising the association of the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s full support to the drivers.
Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro also promised the officers that they will be involved in dialogues for them to determine the programs the PGB can provide.
Meanwhile, the event was further highlighted by a presentation from former Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor and LCS Group of Companies President Chavit Singson, showcasing a model of the modern e-jeepney, which aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of public transport in the region. As part of this initiative, the new BFJODA officers were introduced to a modernized credit card payment system for commuters, revolutionizing the way passengers pay for their rides.
The event was also attended by Aminoden D. Guro, regional director of LTFRB Region III, Joel J. Bolano, head of technical division of LTFRB, and Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer II Donald Maniego.
