CITY OF MALOLOS– Bulacan officials and health leaders exemplary COVID-19 response, actions and programs has bagged for the province at least five distinguished awards in this year’s 8th Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health (CLExAH) on Tuesday at Kingsborough International Convention Center in City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Provincial Health Officer I Dr. Edwin Tecson, and Nurse Brian Alfonso received the Outstanding Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, Best in Multi-sectoral Collaboration on COVID-19 Vaccination, Pulang Laso Excellence Awards for Health awarded to Bulacan Medical Center (Hospital Category), Excellence Award for DRRM-H Institutionalization, and Excellence Award in UHC Implementation in behalf of Governor Daniel R. Fernando.

Department of Health Undersecretary Enrique Tayag thanked the awardees for their support on the COVID-19 Vaccination and other programs of the DOH in Central Luzon.

“This year, we only not focus on excellence but also in bouncing higher, doing better, and serving more. That is the true essence of excellence. Your passion brought you here and we know it will bring you more success and blessing in many years to come,” the undersecretary said.

Likewise, Central Luzon Center for Health Development Director IV Dr. Corazon Flores congratulated the awardees for overcoming the challenges of the past two years.

“This is a day to celebrate. It’s a day to be happy, to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Lahat po tayo ay nagtulungan. For every person you served and every life saved, maraming, maraming salamat po,” Flores said.

Meanwhile, Fernando recognized the people behind the success, the Bulakenyo health workers who tirelessly worked to serve their constituents regardless of the consequences.

“Ang mga parangal na ito ay patunay na hindi tumitigil ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan sa pagbibigay ng mataas na kalidad ng serbisyong pangkalusugan sa ating mga kalalawigan sa tulong ng ating mga dakilang health worker dahil lubos po ang ating paniniwala na ang malusog na mamamayan ay isa sa mga sangkap upang makamit ang maunlad nating bayan,” the governor said.
