Bulacan mayors to support BBM-Sara tandem

GUIGUINTO, Bulacan– Most from Bulacan’s 24 mayors will pledge their support to presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.  as they continue to endorse Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for the vice presidency.

Guiguinto Mayor Ambrosio C. Cruz, president of Bulacan Mayor’s League said on Monday that the two political parties they belong–the National Unity Party (NUP) and PDP-Laban now both endorse the BBM-Sara tandem.

Most from the Bulacan mayors are now backing Marcos after the NUP hierarchy has earlier endorsed the BBM-Sara tandem while the other mayors who are PDP- Laban members led by Cruz abide with the decision of their national leaders supporting the Marcos-Duterte UniTeam.

The support and endorsement to Duterte remain strong despite her decision to slide down to vice presidency.  Almost all the 24 Bulacan mayors last year signed a manifesto endorsing Duterte to run for the presidency.

Presidential candidate former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice-Presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The mayor said they are giving the same support to the Davao City mayor for her vice presidential bid.

“Our support to Sara will now include Marcos because of the NUP’s support to him. We would release the signed manifesto next week,” he told NEWS CORE.

However, Pulilan Mayor Maritz Ochoa-Montejo, sister of former executive secretary Paquito Ochoa during the term of late former Pres. Noynoy Aquino will not be part of the manifesto.

Duterte met a number of Bulacan mayors in their homes and other venues in the province during the weekend.
