GUIGUINTO, Bulacan—Re-electionist Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla assures folks the senate is on top of the flood control solution efforts of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as he continue to push for the completion and implementation of a solid master plan and not just a band-aid solution.
Revilla said the senate is now focused in the agency’s master plan on flooding in the province, the whole of Central Luzon, the rest of Luzon particularly Metro Manila including in similarly flood-thorn places in the rest of the country.
The senator said there is no letting go on the even worsening flood concerns in the areas. “Hindi po tayo nagpapabaya sa tungkulin.
Kaya umiikot ako sa iba’t ibang lugar ng ating bansa, kaya ako nandito sa Bulacan at sa marami pang ibang lugar, lalo na iyong mabababang lugar,” he said.
“We have adressed flooding in our very own province of Cavite, but there are areas still needed to be focused on. Bulacan has still a long way to go but we are together in addressing it. Rest assured that we will not rest until we achieve our target and goal,” he told reporters in an interview.
Revilla, senate public works committee chair was joined by Senators Imee Marcos, Joel Villanueva, Francis Tolentino, Nancy Binay, Raffy Tulfo in a recent senate hearing after Bulacan and Pampanga were heavily submerged in water due to typhoon Carina in July.
“Typhoon signals are really different today, we have signal number 4 and 5. Some decades ago, strong typhoon signal was only signal number 2,” the official added. onnow bagyo dati no. 2 ang noong kabataan ko.
Bulacan Fifth District Rep. Ambrosio Cruz Jr. led some 2,000 residents of Guiguinto and other municipalities in the province in welcoming the senator at Guiguinto Oval Arena on Tuesday.
Revilla and his group was also welcomed by Guiguinto Mayor Agatha Paula Cruz and Vice Mayor Banjo Estrella.
