CALUMPIT, Bulacan—Three young children were killed in a fire that broke out inside their studio-type house in Barangay Gatbuca in this town on Wednesday.
SFO1 Mark Anthony C Custodio, Calumpit Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel who investigated the incident identified the victims as Marcus Ace Reyes, 5; Maliah Queen Reyes, 2 and Macy Queenie Zamora, 1.
Custodio said the three were found lifeless while embracing each other on their bed as they were trapped in a fire that broke out while they were sleeping in their house in Purok 4, Barangay Gatbuca at around 11pm.
Their mother, Mary Anne Reyes, left them at sleep for a work in a neighbor’s wake.
According to Custodio, the fire lasted for 30 minutes, after they declared a fire under control at about 11:30 pm and a fire out at 11:40pm.
Custodio said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
Two adjacent similar studio-type houses were also affected by the fire.
