CARD MRI Insurance Agency (CaMIA) celebrated its 16th anniversary, commemorating its unwavering commitment to providing outstanding microinsurance products and services to the communities with the theme “Providing a safety net for the Filipino people” on August 2, 2023.

The modest yet significant celebration took place at the M. Paulino CARD MBA Building in San Pablo City, Laguna, where a thanksgiving mass was held, presided by Msgr. Jerry Bituon. It was attended by the CARD MRI executive committee members, staff, and microinsurance agents.

CaMIA Chairperson Ms. Jocelyn Dequito expressed her gratitude to all the people behind CaMIA for their collaborative efforts to continue providing affordable insurance products to Filipino households.

Moreover, CaMIA President and General Manager Mr. Vener Abellera acknowledged the pivotal role played by the CARD MRI financial and banking institutions, as their loan products paved the way for accessible insurance and enabled CaMIA to serve over 1.2 million insured individuals over the past 16 years.

CaMIA, a member institution of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), was established in 2007 as a response to the devastating effects of Super Typhoon Reming in the Philippines. Realizing the importance of a safety net to the most vulnerable sectors, CaMIA created both life and non-life insurance, which aim to protect Filipino households from the impact of calamities. The agency offers insurance products such as the  Dakila Plan, Sagip Plan, Kabuklod Plan, CARD Care, CARD Crop Assistance Program (CCAP), and Group Life Insurance.

CaMIA continues to provide insurance coverage to many Filipino households. The agency remains committed to exploring all possible channels to reach and educate the community about the benefits of insurance during unforeseen events.
