Considered as another wonder achieved and displayed by San Ildefonso Mayor Fernando “Gazo” Galvez is his re-election to the post together with his daughter, municipal administrator—Charize Galvez as his vice mayor. It is the first time the young Galvez throws her hat in politics.
Their father-daughter tandem defeated Vice Mayor Rocky Galvez and Tan in the mayoralty and vice mayoralty posts respectively. All three of them of the vice mayor and Tan are first cousins.
Gazo made history in Bulacan politics in 2022 when he unseated his cousin, then Mayor Carla Galvez-Tan. He used to be just one of his cousin’s personnel who prepared coffee for the visitors at the mayor’s office.
San Ildefonso had long been a “Galvez country” after the town’s most loved, long time former Mayor Honorato “Gener” Galvez was murdered in June 2000.
The mayoralty just revolves within their family.
