
CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE—Officials and local candidates in this city and in the City of Meycauayan who worked as partners of Damayang Filipino Movement Inc. (DFMI) for years, strongly endorsed the Damayang Filipino party-list during its kick-off campaign rally in this city on Tuesday.
City of San Jose del Monte mayoralty candidate, Councilor Romeo Agapito and his vice mayoralty running mate, Councilor Janet Reyes and their city councilor candidates in both district 1 and 2–Joseph Aban, Mario Batuigas, Eumir Samera, Atty. Isko, Penialber, Boy Rocha, Reynaldo Policarpio, former police officer Paul Galang, Rannie Matuigina, Giovanni Capricho, former Bulacan fourth district Board Member Allan Rey Baluyot,BJ Bartolome, Glenn Villano, Vin Aguirre and Mike Apostol all stood up on the stage of Ebenezer Christian Academy in Barangay Sto. Cristo and campaigned for Damayang Filipino party-list.
City of Meycauayan mayoralty candidate Councilor Mariposa Cabigquez hailed the DMFI for being the partners for 17 years now of local officials down to the barangay levels including the Sangguniang Kabataan in almost all of the medical missions, livelihood training, blood letting and feedings programs they have been conducting for years.
Bulacan re-electionist Gov. Daniel Fernando established the DFMI in 2008 to give the underprivileged people in Bulacan some of the basic needs, particularly in health and medical care, livelihood, wellness., etc.
Fernando said the resources of the government are not enough, and that there should be non-government groups and foundations that can also cater to the needs of the people and which had prompted and inspired him to put up the DFMI.
“It was just DFMI and not yet a party-list, they were our partners in health and social programs in many barangays in Meycauayan including that of Unity Walk against illegal drugs that we staged.,” Cabigquez addressed the jam packed and jubilant crowd in the covered court of Ebenezer Christian Academy.
Councilwoman Mizu Prima Rivera of Barangay Caingin, city councilor candidate of Cabigquez, spoke about being politically discriminated against by an opposition, but she continued to be elected because of the projects of the DFMI.
“I am not a member of the group chat, I was not being invited on several occasions, but our people continue to vote for me because of the medical missions, feeding programs and other projects of the DFMI which I bring down in our barangay,” she said.
Cabigquez was also joined by her vice mayoralty running mate Manny Alarilla, Laarni Cayanan, Jhay Santos, Beth Gabales, Marck Barbell Aguirre and Robert Viray in gracing and expressing their full support to Damayang Filipino party-list.
Damayang Filipino party-list First Nominee Athenie Ramirez-Bautista, sister of Governor Daniel Fernando and former head of the Medical Division of the Bulacan Provincial Government has earlier led a motorcade rally before the early in the evening program.
She recently resigned from the work as the Damayang Filipino first nominee.
“DMFI has rendered about 3,000 medical missions, livelihood training programs, feeding programs, heath and wellness, blood letting not only in Bulacan but in other places,” Bautista said during an earlier interview.
Damayang Filipino medical missions also provide beauty and wellness including pets and animal care services.
Vice Gov. Alex Castro, also joined Fernando in strongly campaigning for the Damayang Filipino party-list. “This is our very own party-list, the party-list of the Bulakenyos,’ he said.
According to the governor, the Damayang Filipino party-list in Congress will expand to the rest of the country all its programs and projects for health and medical care, livelihood, wellness, feeding, including scholarship and others.
DMFI is on its first bid as party-list.
