GUIGUINTO, Bulacan—Former Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino can expect a return in the senate after the May 2025 elections if the same force and strength of the Filipino people who go out and fought for the “Leni-Kiko” team during the 2022 presidential elections will also give their support to them.
Aquino who spoke before more than 2,500 youth members, fisher groups, farmers, solo parents, labor groups and other sectors in Bulacan during the Saturday launch of “KiBam” Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino Campaign said those groups of people who actively go out of their respective houses during the 2022 presidential campaign period and those who actually voted for the team on the election day can definitely make their return in the senate in the election next year.
Aquino who was then the campaign manager for Leni-Kiko tandem said that, what they have witnessed the strength of the Filipino people during that time, if still exists today will become their edge in winning the senatorial race. Former Vice President Leni Robredo ran for the 2022 presidency with Pangilinan as her vice presidential running mate.
“If what we have then observed and seen strength of the Filipino people are still here today, they went out of their houses in contrary to the reports that people were quiet and were already settled and would no longer go out of their houses, but we saw the youth, the farmers, the fisher folks, the labor groups, the multi-sectors. We witnessed their force, if their strength, forces, courage and boldness that made them go out are still there today, me and Senator Kiko will definitely make it in the Senate,” he addressed the crowd of Bulakenyo supporters.
Aquino who had earlier pushed for the free tuition fee law through RA 10931 during his 2013-2019 term in the Senate said he will continue to work hard to provide education and job opportunities to the youth if he gets elected.
Pangilinan who was behind the coco levy trust fund law that protects the coconut industry said there are still other concerns and measures needed to be passed in the senate for the agriculture industry that’s why he and Aquino are continuously fighting to regain seats in the senate.
According to Pangilinan, prices of agricultural commodities are high because there is not enough support for the farmers and agriculture sector.
He said his previous term in the senate made him witness the integrity, truthfulness and the track record of Aquino. Similarly, today, he said, Senator Risa Hontiveros is performing very well. But it seems that she was all alone and she needed strong allies.
“There is no other more powerful than the 65-million Filipino voters. You are the most powerful ones who could elect your senators. All you need to do is to convince others to make the right choice. Those with integrity, honesty, truthfulness and with good track record,” Pangilinan said
Hontiveros spoke ahead of both Pangilinan and Aquino inside the Guiguinto Municipal Athletic and Cultural as the candidate’s campaign manager.
“Their track record, integrity and commitment in serving our people, our country had been proven so many times and we need them in the senate,” she told the multi-sector Bulakenyos.
Palakasin pa natin ang ating panalo,” (We need to bring them in the senate, they will be our allies in the senate. It is not only a campaign of KiBam but it is everybody’s campaign, it is our campaign. In 2022, our unity has demonstrated a huge impact. Let us once again unite this time and make our nation win again. The victory of Senator Pangilinan and Senator Bam Aquino is a victory for our country. Let us strengthen our victory), she said.
Guiguinto Mayor Agatha Paula Cruz and Vice Mayor Banjo Estrella joined by Bulacan Fifth District Congressman Ambrosio Cruz Jr. led Bulacan officials in welcoming and supporting the KiBam launch in the province.
Early last month, KiBam was first launched in the National Capital Region.
