Bangkok, Thailand – July 8, 2024: Edmund Araga, President of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), recently attended the Electric Vehicle Asia event hosted by the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT). Representing both EVAP and the Asian Federation of Electric Vehicle Associations (AFEVA), Araga took on a dual role to advocate for increased collaboration and development in the electric vehicle (EV) industries across the ASEAN region.

During the event, Araga engaged with key stakeholders and industry leaders to discuss strategies for accelerating EV adoption, infrastructure development, and regulatory harmonization within the region. His participation underscores a commitment to fostering regional partnerships that will drive innovation and sustainability in the EV sector.

“Strengthening our relationships within the ASEAN region is crucial as we collectively work towards a greener and more sustainable future,” Araga stated. “The Electric Vehicle Asia event provided an invaluable platform for sharing knowledge and best practices, and I am confident that our collaborative efforts will yield significant advancements in the EV industry.”

Looking ahead, Araga highlighted the upcoming Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) scheduled for October 24-26 at the SMX Exhibit in Manila. The PEVS is expected to draw a diverse array of participants, including government officials, industry experts, and EV enthusiasts. The summit aims to showcase the latest innovations, discuss policy frameworks, and explore investment opportunities in the Philippine EV market.

“The PEVS will be a pivotal event for the Philippines, offering a unique opportunity to further our nation’s commitment to electric mobility,” Araga added. “We are eager to build on the momentum from the Electric Vehicle Asia event and continue our efforts to position the ASEAN region as a global leader in the EV revolution.”
