GOOD NEWS: PhilHealth Region III paid Php1.05 Billion Benefit Claims to the District Hospitals in Pampanga

PhilHealth Region III reported the Php1.05 billionbenefit claims payment to the eleven (11) district hospitals in the Province of Pampanga on January 20, 2025. This payment covered the health care services provided to members for the period January to December 2024 by the following partner health care providers (HCPs):

1.       Diosdado P. Macapaga Memorial Hospital

2.      Domingo B. Flores District Hospital

3.      Dr. Andres J. Luciano District Hospital

4.      Dr. Emigdio C. Cruz Sr. Memorial Hospital

5.      Escolastica Romero District Hospital

6.      Jose Songco Lapid District Hospital

7.      Mabalacat District Hospital

8.     Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital

9.      Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital (Annex Specialty Hospital)

10.  Romana Pangan District Hospital

11.   San Luis District Hospital

PhilHealth Benefit Administration Section A (BAS-A) Head Dr. Sheryan R. Dela Peña, PhilHealth San Fernando Head Ma. Elizabeth B. Capuli, and team reported this good news to Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda of Pampanga, wherein she expressed her gratitude and appreciation to PhilHealth Region III for meeting the target of Php1 billion collections on the health care services provided by the district hospitals. She also stated that the hospitals were compliant to the zero billing policy (No Balance Billing/ NBB) where admitted patients (PhilHealth members) availed of health care services needed without out-of-pocket (OOP) payment (“walang binayaran”). The said payment will also be used in supporting the non – medical and medical professionals in delivering excellent health care services to all patients who are PhilHealth members and dependents.

PhilHealth provided direct assistance and coordination with the government and private health care facilities to continuously deliver services to the public. While patients who are not yet registered in PhilHealth, can register or update their records in the hospitals where they are currently admitted or confined so that they can immediately use their PhilHealth benefits.

During the meeting, Vice Governor Pineda commended PhilHealth Board Members, President and CEO Emmanuel R. Ledesma Jr., and PhilHealth Region III Acting Vice President Henry V. Almanon on the newly released 95% increase in PhilHealth benefits this year. This will sustain the No Balance Billing (NBB) policy in the government hospitals, and will decrease the out-of-pocket (OOP) expenses of patients in the private hospitals. As PCEO Ledesma stated, “PhilHealth is committed to the continuous expansion and improvement of PhilHealth benefits for all Filipinos”.
