CITY OF MALOLOS–Gov. Daniel Fernando continue to call on residents to undergo booster shots as only 2.26% of more than 3,000,000 vaccinated residents took the second booster shot. 

Latest Provincial Health Office record said only 68,434 residents had their second booster shot which is only 2.26% of the 3,014,027 who were vaccinated with first and second doses. The 3,014,027 is 80% herd immunity reached out of Bulacan’s 3,767,534 total population. 

The 675,047 who had undergone first booster shot is only 20% of those who had completed two doses. 

The governor called on parents and relatives of students who would have face to face classes this August opening of classes to lead the heed for the booster shots to help ensure the safety and protection of their children.

Bulacan’s COVID-19 active cases increased to 29 cases from 1,408 on Friday to1,437 on Monday, says Dra. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Bulacan COVID-19 Task Force vice chair. 

However, this remain very little or only 1 percent of the total 112,312 cases since March 2020.

Out of the 1,437 active cases, 1,398 are in home isolation and 39 are in hospitals. Thirteen from these are confined in Bulacan Infection Control Center (BICC). But Celis said they were all only in moderate conditions. The other hospitalized victims are confined in Metro Manila hospitals.

Out of the 1,437 active cases, City of Malolos with 273 has the biggest, City of San Jose del Monte has 210, Sta Maria with 97, Baliwag with 90 and Guiguinto with 78. Celis said because of the increasing active cases since May, there is no more zero active case among cities and municipalities.

Bulacan has also recorded 109,137 recoveries and 1,738 deaths.
