Pamaagi, an event under “Araw ng Pagbangon,” aims to support the microenterprises of CARD MRI clients by marketing their products through a travel fair.

CARD MRI Hijos Tours launched “Araw ng Pagbangon”, an event designed to recognize the efforts and initiatives of the clients and staff of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) towards the path of recovery after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the town of Iba in Zambales on August 19, 2022.

Araw ng Pagbangon consists of four events: Koa Kafe, Pamaagi, Sugilanon, and localized Kapihan Session. Koa Kafe, a pop-up event facilitated by CARD MRI Publishing House in collaboration with Mga Likha ni Inay, held a storytelling activity for students featuring the storybook, “Ang Lapis ni Anya” while giving away free coffee, calamansi juice, and Indomie noodles.

Meanwhile, the Pamaagi Travel Fair is Hijos Tours’ event that features the products of CARD MRI clients who were affected by the pandemic. The event has a total of 50 participants; 25 clients from CARD MRI Rizal Bank (CMRBI) Iba Branch and 25 clients from CARD SME Bank Subic Branch.

In the afternoon, a monologue performance called “Sugilanon” was held that depicts the story of a CARD MBA Coordinator and a CARD MRI driver before and during the pandemic. Finally, a gathering of clients and staff was also conducted tagged as the Kapihan Session.
“The culmination of these four events is a show of hope to our clients and staff that we are successful in overcoming the impact of COVID-19. We are inspired by their bravery and resilience

that we have crafted a day full of events that captured how grateful CARD MRI is to their contribution to our journey towards recovery and poverty eradication,” said Hijos Tours President Marilyn M. Manila.

Araw ng Pagbangon will be conducted next in Iloilo City in September 2022.

Hijos Tours, CARD Publishing, and Mga Likha ni Inay are member-institutions of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), a group of institutions established in December 10, 1986 specializing in microfinance, microinsurance, and community development.
