CITY OF MALOLOS– The much-anticipated Indakan sa Kalye is once again set to treat spectators with vibrant costumes and graceful dances as they fill the streets of this capital city on September 14, starting at 1:00 pm.

Nine groups will compete for the title by showcasing the stories of their localities’ respective celebrations through beautiful dances and native music that promise to be both a visual and an auditory feast.

The street parade, in the tune of ‘Makulay na Bulakenyo’, will start from the Immaculate Conception Parish Cathedral and Minor Basilica at 1:00 pm, will pass through Paseo del Congreso up to Malolos Crossing, and will end in front of the Provincial Capitol building.

The dance showdown will then follow with the competing teams performing their local festival’s music and dance in front of the Capitol building.

More than a competition, Governor Daniel R. Fernando believes that the Indakan sa Kalye is a testament of Bulacan’s unwavering spirit and commitment to preserve its cultural heritage.

“Bilang ang Singkaban Festival ang tinaguriang Mother of All Fiestas ng ating lalawigan, marapat lamang na itampok natin sa pagdiriwang na ito ang iba’t ibang kapistahan ng ating mga bayan at lungsod. Sa pamamagitan nito, at sa pakikipagtulungan ninyo, makakaasa tayo na mapapanatili nating buhay ang mayamang kultura ng mga Bulakenyo,” the governor said.

Winners of the competition will get P120,000, P80,000, and P50,000 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively; while the three consolation prizes, Best in Street Dancing, and Best in Costume will receive P20,000 each.
