Isuzu Launches and Turns Over Modernized PUVs to Dauin Transport Services Cooperative (DATSCO)

Dumaguete City, Philippines, July 20, 2024 — Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) in partnership with Centro Manufacturing Corporation, successfully launched and turned over modernized Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) to the Dauin Transport Services Cooperative (DATSCO) in a two-day event held on July 18-19, 2024. The launch and turnover ceremony marks a significant milestone in enhancing the public transportation system in Dauin, Negros Oriental, as part of the government’s PUV modernization program.

The event was attended by key stakeholders and representatives, including DATSCO Chairperson Gemma Tuble, Leah M. Marino of Isuzu Dumaguete City, Flordeliz Temblor-Olivar of Bethel Insurance, Mr. Mario Ojales from Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), and Mr. Lester Uy from Isuzu Bacolod. The modernized PUV bodies were crafted by Centro Manufacturing Corporation, underscoring their commitment to providing high-quality transportation solutions.

Gemma Tuble, Chairperson of DATSCO, expressed her gratitude, stating, “This turnover is a momentous occasion for our cooperative. These modernized PUVs will not only improve the quality of transportation for our community but also contribute to a more sustainable and efficient public transport system. We are thankful to Isuzu and all our partners for their unwavering support.”

Leah M. Marino of Isuzu Dumaguete City shared her thoughts on the successful launch, saying, “This event is a testament to our commitment to supporting the PUV modernization program. We are proud to be a part of this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact these vehicles will have on Dauin’s public transportation.”

Flordeliz Temblor-Olivar of Bethel Insurance emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of the passengers, noting, “Bethel Insurance is proud to partner with Isuzu and DATSCO in this endeavor. We are committed to providing comprehensive insurance coverage to protect the passengers and operators of these modernized PUVs.”

Mr. Mario Ojales from Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) highlighted the significance of the turnover, stating, “The delivery of these modernized PUVs to DATSCO marks another step forward in our mission to contribute to the country’s transportation infrastructure. We are dedicated to providing reliable and durable vehicles that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

Mr. Lester Uy from Isuzu Bacolod added, “We are delighted to see the successful completion of this project. Isuzu remains committed to supporting local cooperatives like DATSCO in their efforts to modernize and enhance their transportation services.”
