Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva donates a new fire truck to the municipal government of Bocaue and also led the Department of Social Welfare and Development Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (DSWD AICS) and Department of Labor and Employment Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (DOLE TUPAD) pay-outs to more than 2,000 residents of the town on Friday, Nov 24 in celebration and commemoration of the birth anniversary of late Bocaue Mayor Joni Villanueva.
The senator in his speech paid tribute to the late mayor who was his younger sister and who had served as the town chief from 2016 until her passing in 2020. Mayor Joni died of ailment at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic after she personally led the weeks of preparations of “ayuda” packs for all her constituents. Meanwhile, Villanueva called on the DOLE and DSWD to conduct evaluations on the existing programs of the agency including the determination of the appropriate allocation of resources to ensure equitable distribution of aid.
The Bulakenyo senator also graced the inauguration of a P1-million worth new barangay hall and Day Care Center in Barangay Igulot. Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna and other officials of Bocaue warmly received the fire truck. Photo by Anton Luis Catindig
