CITY OF MALOLOS—Malolos Diocese Bishop Dennis Villarojo calls for a fair, honest and speedy trial of corruption charges filed against private contractors and government agency officials involved in anomalous flood control projects to bring justice to hundreds of Bulakenyo flood victims.
In a statement on Wednesday, Villarojo asks the prosecutors and the courts to hastily prosecute and decide on the charges of corruption with fairness and integrity. The Bishop said that justice delayed is justice denied and that the prosecutors and the judiciary must ensure to hold accountable those who will be found guilty, either those from the government or the private sector and that the trial will serve as an opportunity to see what laws are needed to be changed or put in place to eradicate corruption to further ensure honesty and accountability in serving the people.
Villarojo said the Roman Catholic church is voicing out loud its call to stop corruption that results to sloppy infrastruture projects as they ask the heaven to pour in justice to the victims of the ghost flood control projects just like a raging water in a river.
“𝗦𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘄𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗮s naming 𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘄: 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝘄𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗮𝗸 𝗻𝗮 imprastraktura 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻! “𝗕𝘂𝗺𝘂𝗵𝗼𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝘄𝗮 ang 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗴” (𝗔𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝟱:𝟮𝟰), 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻(John 𝟴:𝟯𝟮)”.
Villarojo also calls on the leaders of the government to embrace their positions and sworn duties as sacred and not to enrich themselves because public service is a vocation and not an enterprise or busiess.
The churh also encourages everyone in the government to open themseves in investgation on ghost flood control projects.

Iwaksi natin ang kasalanan sa lahat ng pagkakataon,” (Let us lead the way in doing what is right and good and the manifestation of the truth, bearing in our hearts the courage of a prophet. Let us do away from sins at all times), he said.
