PHILIPPINE DAILY INQUIRER Correspondent and NEWSCORE publisher and editor-in-chief Carmela Reyes-Estrope joins fellow reporters and community newspaper publishers in Central Luzon in the Central Luzon leg of the “MEDIA in the Times of Fake” seminar-workshop being conducted by the Natipnal Press Club and the Philippine Tobacco Institute to reinvigorate the call against fake news held in Quest Hotel in Clark, Pampanga on Friday, Nov. 8.
Reyes-Estrope is also the current president and chairperson of the newly created Central Luzon Media-Citizen Council (CLMCC) which fosters media professionalism and accountability as effective measures in protecting members of the fourth estate from libel, cyber libel and other possible forms of media threats and harassments.
About 50 broadcast and print journalists in the region led by the officers and membes of the Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA) attended the event and affixed their signatures of strong support, action and participation in combatting fake news.
Reyes-Estrope is also a Senior Lecturer in Communication and Media Department of the Centro Escolar University (CEU) Malolos.
