NLEX extends relief assistance to LGUs, host communities

Committed to fostering the value of “malasakit” or care for the well-being of its stakeholders and the general public, NLEX Corporation mobilized emergency relief operations for its host communities and local government units (LGUs) in Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac who were affected by typhoons Egay and Falcon.

Some 300 sacks of rice and 200 boxes of assorted canned goods were distributed to more than 18,000 families from 40 NLEX-SCTEX host barangays and five local government units in Bulacan and Pampanga municipalities.

“This is our way to give back to our stakeholders and to show our support in alleviating the burden of our kababayans in this difficult time,” said NLEX Corporation President J. Luigi L. Bautista.

“We hope that through this initiative, we were able to address their immediate needs and ensure that those needing help will be efficiently and immediately assisted,” Bautista added.

Barangay Captain Jesus Tayag of Sta. Monica, San Simon expressed his gratitude to NLEX for its quick response to provide his typhoon-inflicted constituents with rice, canned goods and noodles.

“Nakakatuwa dahil ang bilis ng aksyon ng mga taga NLEX-SCTEX. Kahit gabihin sa daan at malakas ang ulan, hindi kayo tumigil hangga’t hindi ninyo nata-turn over sa amin ang inyong donasyon. Napakalaking tulong ito para sa amin. Mabuhay kayo!” said Barangay Captain Tayag.

Through the years, the tollway company has always been committed to assist those in need, always at the frontline to help communities especially during calamities — ensuring that immediate, appropriate, and efficient assistance is extended to them.

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and several disasters that struck the region, NLEX-SCTEX has led several donation drives and relief operations to provide assistance aimed at protecting the lives and health, as well as, meeting the needs of people affected by disaster.

Aside from being present in times of calamity, NLEX continuously conducts initiatives to reach out and give back to communities through its various corporate social responsibility programs. NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).
