CITY OF MALOLOS – Get ready to be swept off your feet by the enchanting Parada ng Karosa, the moving display of art, culture and history, winding its way from Malolos Cathedral Church to the Bulacan Capitol Building, officially kicking off the Singkaban Festival on September 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
With the theme “Pagyakap sa Kasaysayan, Pagsulong sa Kinabukasan”, thousands of Bulakenyos will be able to marvel at the beautifully hand-crafted floats representing the cultural richness, local artistry, and natural wonders of Bulacan where local government units and agencies will come together to create these stunning displays, giving spectators a taste of the province’s vibrant heritage.
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando expressed his pride and gratitude to the local government units not only for their active participation in the Parada ng Karosa, but for their willingness to share the colorful culture and rich heritage of the province.
“Bawat karosa ay nagkukuwento ng ating mayamang kasaysayan at kultura, kasabay ng pagpapakita ng simbolo ng pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan ng mga Bulakeny. Sa ating mga lokal na pamahalaan, ahensya, at mga institusyon, salamat sa inyong walang sawang suporta at pakikiisa sa pagpapalaganap ng ating kultura at pagpapahalaga sa ating pagka-Bulakenyo,” Fernando said.
Also, the best floats will receive cash prizes and trophies.
Parada ng Karosa is part of the week-long celebration of Singkaban Festival, a much-anticipated event that pays homage to Bulacan’s vibrant arts and culture, particularly the province’s traditional craft called “singkaban,” or skillfully carved bamboo arches.
