PGB garners multiple recognitions atTRES Awards

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) once again proved its excellence in tourism as they garnered multiple recognitions at the prestigious Tourism Recognition for Enterprises and Stakeholders (TRES) Awards by the Department of Tourism – Region 3 Office held at Quest Plus Conference Center, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga yesterday.

Known to be the home to many national artists, cradle of noble heroes and for its rich historical heritage, the Province of Bulacan emerged as the grand winner, earning the Most Outstanding Heritage and Cultural Tourism Award for SINEliksik Bulacan and the Most Outstanding Culinary Tourism Program for Kalutong Bulakenyo, while also securing the second runner-up spot for Most Outstanding Festival with its Singkaban Festival.

The late Dr. Eliseo S. Dela Cruz, former department head of PHACTO, was also honored with an award in recognition of his significant contributions in tourism, which was received by his sister, Christine Dela Cruz.

Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando was represented by Provincial Administrator Antonia V. Constantino in accepting the award, with May Arlene Torres, acting department head of PHACTO and Limuel Jan J. Lobederio, head of PHACTO’s Tourism Division.

The tourism offices of the cities of San Jose del Monte, Malolos, and Baliwag also received awards for their efforts in enhancing tourist experiences and maintaining high standards in tourism management in the province.

TRES Awards is Central Luzon’s leading tourism recognition program that honors people, businesses, organizations, and local governments for their excellence in the region’s tourism industry. It recognizes their efforts to improve and promote the attractions that make Central Luzon a great place to visit.
