CITY OF MALOLOS – Celebrating Fire Prevention Month this March 2025, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office is geared up and set a fiery lineup of initiatives to ignite fire safety awareness and strengthen preventive measures.

Kicking off with the theme “Sa pag-iwas sa sunog, hindi ka nag-iisa!” (You’re not alone in preventing fires), the Fire Prevention Month officially started on March 3, 2025, at the Monday Flag Ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium. The flames of awareness are spreading with a series of activities designed to arm Bulakenyos with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle fire-related emergencies head-on.

Accordingly, a range of activities has been organized to equip Bulakenyos with the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to fire-related emergencies which includes Fire Fighting and HAZMAT Training for PDRRMO personnel from March 5 to 7; Fire and Earthquake Orientation Drill at BMC Annex on March 7; Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for the Association of Bulacan Dentists (KADEBU) on March 10; while the 1st Quarter Meeting of PGB Marshals is scheduled on March 11 followed by Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training for PDRRMO Personnel and Council from March 12 to 14.

Further, an Earthquake Orientation Drill at Sta. Cruz Multispecialty Hospital is set for March 18 and a HAZMAT Orientation for PDRRMO stakeholders will take place on March 20-21, culminating in a HAZMAT Drill on March 25.

Bulacan Provincial Fire Marshal FSSupt. Ernesto S. Pagdanganan delivered an inspiring message during the kick-off ceremony, highlighting the importance of fire safety and prevention. He also presented a detailed report on the Bureau of Fire Protection-Bulacan’s activities and initiatives over the past year, showcasing the agency’s efforts to enhance fire prevention and emergency response across the province.

Simultaneously, motorcade activities were held across all cities and municipalities in Bulacan to raise awareness and remind the community about this year’s Fire Prevention Month theme.

Fire Prevention Month is observed in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, issued by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, and Proclamation No. 360 of 1986, both of which declare March as a dedicated period for increasing awareness and advocating fire safety nationwide.
