CITY OF MALOLOS – In a demonstration of its commitment to infrastructure development and disaster resilience, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) proudly unveiled a newly constructed 389-meter drainage system in Purok Ilang-Ilang, Brgy. Panasahan in this city.

This newly constructed drainage system is a significant step towards addressing the issue of flooding in the area, particularly during the rainy season, designed to enhance water flow management, reduce the risk of flooding, and ultimately improve the quality of life for the residents of Brgy. Panasahan.

The construction of this vital infrastructure project commenced on July 1, 2024, and was successfully completed on October 16, 2024 through the funding from the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) provided by The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), amounting to P3,979,898.47.

Local barangay officials and residents have expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this initiative, recognizing the drainage system as a long-awaited solution to their persistent concerns.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando underscored the importance of collaborative governance in the successful implementation of such projects and highlighted that initiatives like this are made possible through the province’s achievement of the Seal of Good Local Governance.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, City of Malolos Vice Mayor Miguel Alberto T. Bautista, DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, Provincial Administrator Antonia V. Constantino, Provincial Information Officer Katrina Anne B. Balingit, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bulacan and the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Malolos, while Rev. Fr. Joselito R. Cruz led the blessing ceremony of the new drainage system.
