United States of America Speaker of the House of Representative Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan . She proudly declared “Today, our delegation… came to Taiwan to make unequivocally clear we will not abandon our commitment to Taiwan and we are proud of our enduring friendship,” as quoted by Independent United Kingdom .
China on the other hand reacted that they will have live round exercise near the coast of Taiwan ,for the Chinese authorities this is a breach of their National Sovereignty.
As the world watches on the sidelines, the people of the World is anxious at the very list for the probable reprisals , course of actions and the likes are possible .
The International Geopolitical reality can be fatal and devastating to most countries near the Taiwan China Seas . This is after all Asia and we , the Philippines are part of this biggest continent .
Anticipating without praying for problems , we can prepare for a crisis . After , all we cannot down play the fact that China and Taiwan has lengthy history of conflict , provocations and heightened tensions much like the South and North Koreans. The possible concept of Reunification which is simply joining back the two Koreans and the Two Chiness.
Melissa Newcomb wrote ROK-DPRK relations and ROC-PRC relations are both frozen conflicts born from the Cold War. Taiwan and South Korea are like siblings—both were colonized by Japan, both have historic ties to China, and both are partners of the United States who have undergone radical economic growth and democratization in the last 30 years. Indeed, neither South Korea nor Taiwan could exist as it does today without U.S. intervention following the end of World War II.
However, their counterparts, the PRC and DPRK, have not followed similar paths. North Korea is one of the least-developed countries in the world. Any modernization has come in spurts, generally to the benefit of elites in Pyongyang alone. China, meanwhile, is the second-largest economy in the world and has improved the quality of life for its citizens across the country (though not equally).
Pelosi came to buttress US influence and control in the Pacific and honestly China was insulted so hard by the 82 year-old Iron Lady of the US Congress.
What can be an offshoot of this reality , if ever War escalates like that of the on-going Ukraine –Russian war , we will be part of the theatre of this War . God forbid , it will be close by more like a stone throw away .
This early , we must anticipate and prepare for the worst in Chines it translates as Wèi zuì huài de qíngkuàng zuò zhǔnbèi.
