“We’re about 75% ready for the first-ever ISUFST-hosted RSCUAA 2024,” announced Dr. Edmer Bernardo, Overall Secretariat Chairperson, during the RSCUAA Progress Report Meeting held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the ISUFST Main Campus-Poblacion Site Techno Hub. With the December 15 grand opening at Barotac Nuevo Tamasak Arena fast approaching, preparations are in full swing to ensure a seamless and memorable sports festival.
The meeting convened over 80 committee members alongside representatives from local government units, the alumni association, and the Department of Education. Key topics included finalizing event schedules, venues, participant eligibility, public relations strategies, billeting arrangements, logistical plans, and health and security measures. Budget allocations were also reviewed, covering costs for technical officials, meals, equipment rentals, medals, certificates, medical supplies, transportation, and accommodations. Other priorities included crafting programs for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Solidarity Night, and coordination with dignitaries and sports personalities set to grace the event. Discussions also explored promotional campaigns to maximize public engagement and ensure broad participation.
ISUFST President Dr. Nordy Siason highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts. “This RSCUAA Sports Festival is more than just an ISUFST initiative. It is a shared endeavor with the local government units and the Department of Education, working together to create an event that celebrates the spirit of competition, unity, and regional pride,” he said.
Dr. Bernardo emphasized the importance of teamwork and rigorous preparation. “Our goal extends beyond hosting a sports festival; we are building a platform that inspires excellence, camaraderie, and a sense of community across the region,” he remarked.
