The whole Department of Education institution (DepEd) deserves high commendation from both its entire members, the government and society as well for its performance in the current flexible distance learning system during this health emergency crisis brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is already the second year that DepEd implements the module system in general in all the public schools with a blended online and dominantly online in most private schools in the country.
As a teacher, DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones is one of the most brilliant, effective, efficient leaders in the cabinet of President Duterte. She was firm that classes and education of the Filipino children and the youth should not be stopped amid the pandemic.
“Education must continue even in times of crisis whether it may be a calamity, disaster, emergency, quarantine, or even war,” she was quoted saying as she thank and appreciate the efforts of the Department of Information and Communications Technology for making this platform available in these trying times.
Our beloved Secretary and the ranking officers and brightest personalities in the department immediately processed programs and plans under the flexible distance learning for its implementation when they decided that classes resumes October last year.
