CALUMPIT, Bulacan—The office of Senator Francis ‘Tol’ Tolentino on Saturday conducted series of “Tulong ni Tol” relief operations to flood-affected residents in this town and in the province of Pampanga.
Joined by Calumpit Mayor Lem Faustino, Patrick Tolentino, the senator’s son led the ceremonial distribution of 350 boxes of relief packs for 87 families who are still currently displaced because of floodings brought by Typhoon Carina and heavy monsoon rain.
The turn-over of the goods was held at Northville 9 Multi-purpose building in Barangay Iba O’ Este.
Faustino thanked Sen. Tolentino for the support to the people of Calumpit as the town continues to recover from the recent flooding.
Similar 350 boxes of relief packages were distributed to residents of Masantol, Pampanga, Beneficiary residents directly received their packages from the young Tolentino and the staff of the office of the senator.
The relief operations final stop was in Macabebe, Pampanga. The senator’s son and his office staffs turned over 400 boxes of relief packs. They were wrlcomed by Pampanga Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc at Caduang Tete Covered Court.
The aid is expected to greatly benefit the local residents as they deal with the aftermath of the floods.
Tolentino’s relief efforts were a testament to the ongoing commitment of our leaders and community partners in addressing the needs of those affected by recent floods.
Sen. Tolentino in a statement says he will ensure the senate support for flood mitigating programs budget for Pampanga and Bulacan .
On Friday, the senator joined the senate hearings of the committees on public works, environment and climate change following the intense flooding caused by typhoon Carina and the soithwest monsson that soaked Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga.
Senator Tolentino, who is the senate majority floor leader said infrastructure projects will be a major priority to help address flooding that affects and destroys properties and livelihoods of our people.
