Senator Villanueva distributes DSWD funds, food packs to flooded victims in Paombong

PAOMBONG, Bulacan–Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva turned over family food packs and other forms of assistance through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to the flood victims in this town on Tuesday, August 1.

Mayor Mary Anne Marcos with other town officials received the P1 million support fund and the relief goods which included rice, canned goods, etc.

Paombong including Calumpit and Hagonoy continue to experience worst flooding due to 5.2 ft. or nearly 2 meters level of high tide and back-flooding of floods from the mountainous or eastern parts of Bulacan including from Nueva Ecija and Pampanga bound to Manila Bay.

Villanueva, who hails from Bulacan, said that the flood situation in the province and nearby provinces is a perennial problem that the government must prioritize solving.

The Senator filed Senate Resolution No. 693 to look into the plans and programs of the government for flood protection programs and urban drainage systems in the country.
