SSS, Bocaue LGU ink partnership for the social security coverage of JO workers

BOCAUE, Bulacan – The Social Security System (SSS) said over 800 job order (JO) workers in the municipal government here will now get social security coverage and protection under the KaSSSangga Collect Program (KCP) after the SSS and the local government unit (LGU) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the program implementation.

SSS Senior Vice President for Luzon Operations Group Antonio S. Argabioso said the MOA signing signified the shared commitment of SSS and the LGU to provide social security to JO workers in the government.

Argabioso said the municipality of Bocaue will facilitate the enrollment of its JO workers as self-employed SSS members, who are ineligible for GSIS coverage.

“As an authorized collecting partner, the Bocaue LGU will deduct the monthly Social Security (SS) and Employees’ Compensation (EC) contributions of its JO workers from their salaries and remit the said contributions to the SSS branch,” he added.

Meanwhile, Argabioso said SSS will facilitate the on-site registration for all eligible JO personnel, including the conduct of information seminars to emphasize the value of active SSS membership so they can maximize the various SSS benefits and privileges.

He also encouraged all permanent employees of the LGU to continue their SSS contributions as voluntary members, allowing their contributions to align with their preferences.

“I look forward to years of successful partnership with SSS, as both organizations work for the betterment of the welfare of our JO workers and their families,” Bocaue Municipal Mayor Eduardo Villanueva Jr. concluded after the ceremonial signing.
