Two arrested for illegal possession of firearms

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan—Police arrested two suspects for illegal possession of firearms in City of San Jose del Monte on Sunday. 

Bulacan Police Director Col. Relly Arnedo identified the two as one alias Onof, 23 and one alias ML, 25. They were nabbed respectively in Barangay San Pedro and Barangay Sta. Cruz 2. 

They were arrested while elements of City of San Jose del Monte police and the Bulacan Police Special Action Force implemened a Search Warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of Branch 1 of the Municipal Trial Court of the city. 

Recovered from them respectively were a caliber .38 firearm with five live rounds of ammunition and a caliber .38 firearm with two live rounds of ammunition.

Preparations for filing of criminal complaints related to R.A. 10591 or illegal possession of firearms have been made as the confiscated evidence underwent verification at the Bulacan Forensic Satellite Office in City of San Jose del Monte. 

Arnedo said the arrest of the suspects and the confiscation of the illegal firearms underscores the commitment to uphold peace and order, emphasizing the PNP’s dedication to eliminating loose firearms in the region under the thrust of Police Region 3 Director PBGen Jose Hidalgo Jr. “Pulis ng PRO 3, Partner ng Pamayanan”.
