Vlogger lady rider’s club president gunned down

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan–A 36 year old vlogger and leader of a lady motorcycle riders group in this city was shot dead on Wednesday, belated report sent to Bulacan provincial police office in City of Malolos said. 

Bulacan police director Col. Relly Arnedo identified the victim as Mary Joy Gonzales. She died on the spot due to multiple gun shot wounds on her body.

Gonzales was driving a Burgman Suzuki registered as 658-ROK with group member Ruby Espano, 31, as back rider and traversing along Ipo Road in Barangay Minuyan at about 9:30 p.m. when two unidentified assailants also on board a motorcycle suddenly positioned beside them and one of them fired shots on her. 

Gonzales was wearing a helmet and was believed hit with gun shot wounds on her body. Despite her gun shot wounds, she still managed to maneuvaer the motorcycle to opposite direction but she then fall on the ground.

Espano was unhurt and immediaty run for safety.

They were bound home from their group’s meeting in Logbis Restaurant in Kaypian when the assailant hit Gonzales.

City of San Jose del Monte police chief Col. Ronaldo Lumactod said the victim is the president of San Jose del Monte Lady Rider’s Club and works as a call center agent.

Lumactod also said that the victim is a known social media vlogger. During All Saint’s Day police deployment, Gonzales served as one of the police force multipliers in a convenient store in the city. 

Lumactod said they are now investigating the incident to arrest the perpetrators.
