BULAKAN, Bulacan— A family of three died after their house was razed to the ground and had also destroyed three business stalls in this town early dawn on Monday.

Reports that reached the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) in the City of Malolos identified the victims as Rogelio “Mark” Solis Jr., 46, his partner, Kristine De Dios, 52 and their daughter, Ma. Miyakiel Koreen Solis, 8.

Reports said the victims were asleep inside their bungalow house in Camino St., Barangay San Jose when the fire broke out at 3:11 am. They were awakened and tried to escape but were already trapped inside and were unable to go out.

Sources told NEWS CORE that the family graffled towards the back door of their house when they were caught by the fire.

The fire had also reached and destroyed the three stalls in front, along the main road of Camino St. The stalls are all e-bike shops owned by Darius Rodrigo, 52, from Batangay San Nicolas.

Rodrigo said he lost nearly P1 million worth from the incident.

FO1 Mike Cabrera, from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bulakan office who handles the investigation on the case said they have yet to rule the cause of the fire. The fire was declared a fire out at 4:45 am, Cabrera also said.

Cabrera said the cadavers of the victims were retrieved by responding fire teams and rescuers.

Residents, through social media posts and comments assailed the alleged late response of the fire office. The victims’ place is about 5 mins away from the town fire station.

Neighbours said they still heard the young victim crying for help before she expired.

Sources also told NEWS CORE that the fire reached the three stalls in front because of strong winds. They also said that the fire could have originated in the kitchen of the house which is located at the middle section of the house.
