TOP 1 MOST COMPETITIVE LGU. Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro award the certificates of recognition to City of Baliwag Mayor Ferdinand V. Estrella for ranking first in the Top 10 Most Competitive LGU in the 2023 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index – Provincial Ranking and 3rd Overall Most Competitive LGU held during the Monday Flag Ceremony at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, City of Malolos, Bulacan yesterday. CITY OF MALOLOS – Showcasing its unwavering commitment to progress and excellence, the City of Baliwag headed by Mayor Ferdinand V. Estrella was ranked as the Top Performing Local Government Unit in the Province of Bulacan during the ceremonial awarding of the Top 10 Most Competitive LGU in the 2023 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index – Provincial Ranking held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here coinciding the Monday Flag Ceremony yesterday.

Accordingly, the rankings were determined through an assessment by the Provincial CMCI Technical Working Group headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando as its Chairperson and Dir. Edna D. Dizon, Assistant Regional Director and Bulacan Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry as the Vice Chairperson, and other members from different government offices.

Fernando was joined by Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro and other members of the TWG during the awarding ceremony wherein winners received plaques of recognition including the Municipality of Marilao which landed on 2nd place; Santa Maria on 3rd place; Guiguinto on 4th; City of San Jose Del Monte on 5th rank; City of Malolos on 6th; Plaridel being on 7th place; City of Meycauayan on 8th place; Pulilan on 9th and San Rafael on 10th ranking.

In addition to its provincial ranking, the City of Baliwag was also recently recognized as the 3rd Overall Most Competitive LGU; ranking 5th place in Infrastructure, rank 8 in Resiliency and rank 6 in Innovation in the 2023 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index in the Philippines (1st to 2nd Class Municipalities Category).

Further, the Municipality of Angat was also recognized as the Top 1 Most Improved LGU from its previous ranking of 398 to rank 149 during the awarding of the Top 3 Most Improved LGUs in the 2023 CMCI Provincial Ranking while Doña Remedios Trinidad landed on 2nd place with previous ranking of 402 to rank 188 and Bulakan town on 3rd place with previous ranking of 407 to rank 196.
