PLARIDEL, Bulacan—Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Wednesday opens in this town Bulacan’s 14th Super Health Center (SHC), a primary health care facility in different towns in many provinces and regions in the country to help augment the medical services of municipal, city and barangay health centers.

In 2022, seven Super Health Centers in Balagtas, Bulakan, City of San Jose del Monte, City of Meycauayan, Pandi and San Miguel have also started construction.

This year, Plaridel is the eight Super Health Center that was built other than Angat, Baliwag, Marilao, Obando, Paombong, San Ildefonso and San Rafael.

The SHCs in the country are funded by the Department of Health through the initiative and efforts of Senator Go who chairs the senate health committee.

Super Health Centers are part of the senator’s campaign to improve access to the country’s healthcare system through more health facilities that would help people in the far-flung areas.

“Super health center is a medium type of polyclinic. It is bigger than barangay health center but could not surpass the capabalities of a rural health unit or a city or municipal health center,” the senator sais.

The SHC is a polyclinic type of health center that offers services like birthing facilities, dental services, and x-ray services, among others. It will then be turned over to the local government unit where it will be allowed to expand its medical services.

Bulakan is one of those already operational. The Senator inaugurated it mid this year.

To date, there are now around 700 SHCs nationwide that were already operational, under construction and will already begin construction.

This interactive platform allowed viewers to actively participate, posing questions during the live discussions, and receiving expert answers.

As CARD MRI continues in uplifting the marginalized, the new clinic and laboratory is now open and ready to serve clients, staff, and Tanauan communities with holistic and accessible healthcare services. The said facility is open from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

TAGUIG CITY–In celebration of National Teachers’ Month, the City of Taguig, under the leadership of Mayor Lani Cayetano, distributed tablets with digital accessories to public school teachers on Friday, October 6, at the Taguig Convention Center.

A total of 6,700 Samsung Tab Galaxy 9 tablets complete with keyboards and pens will be distributed to all teachers assigned in Taguig, including those from schools in the EMBO barangays. During Friday’s event, 103 Samsung Tab Galaxy 9 tablet sets were distributed to the 49 principals, 52 teacher presidents, and DepEd SDS Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez who were present at the Convention Hall. The rest will be delivered and  distributed to teachers in their respective schools.

These tablets are expected to aid public school educators in the City in curating engaging lesson plans, making recording of student grades seamless, and enhancing their overall teaching experience.

Mayor Lani Cayetano, in her address, underscored the pivotal role teachers play in achieving excellence.

“The City of Taguig will always be dedicated to help contribute to your professional development as each of you play a pivotal role in what makes our city Transformative, Lively, and Caring,” she said.

She emphasized that Taguig consistently sets the standard in education, attributing this achievement to the unwavering commitment and dedication of its public school teachers. The tablet distribution initiative serves as just one among numerous expressions of gratitude toward these hardworking educators.

“More than anything else, sana makita ng mga guro natin ay hindi ‘yung financial value ng mga itinurnover nating gifts. Sana ang mas makita ninyo ay ang genuine love, concern, and care ng inyong mapagkalingang lungsod ng Taguig,” she added.

In his message, DEPED Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Alejandro G. Ibañez recognized the one-of-a-kind care Taguig gives its educators.

“I’d like to underscore the level of uniqueness of Taguig in terms of the generous support. Wherever I go, this is the first that I encountered a local government providing the necessary educational support to our teachers, not just hundreds, one thousand, but even beyond, 6,000 teaching force in the Division of Taguig City and Pateros,” he declared.

He also highlighted the benefits of these devices to the empowerment and adaptability of Taguig’s teaching force.

“These gadgets will be beneficial especially in our direction of schools in the future which requires the use of technology. Even in face-to-face, blended, and in the virtual world, if our teachers are equipped with the necessary technology, alinman ang sitwasyon, tuloy ang edukasyon,” he declared

Mr. Nolito Estilles, principal of President Diosdado Macapagal High School was extremely thankful to the City of Taguig and Mayor Lani for “this very useful gift.”

“Thank you so much, Ma’am Lani for this gadget na talaga namang very helpful lalo na para sa mga estudyante kasi syempre ang end goal naman natin is for the learners. So kapag ginamit ito ni teacher, mas magiging productive at mas mabilis ang transfer of learning ng mga lessons natin,” he said.

General Ricardo Papa Sr. – Annex Principal Ms. Maria Elena N. Cometa also thanked Mayor Lani for being a transformative leader and shared her insights about adapting to technology integration in teaching.

“Mayor Lani, we have so much to thank you for. Thank you for being an excellent, transformative and consequential leader to our city. Tama po kayo, technology cannot replace a good teacher but a good teacher who knows how to use technology will not be replaced at all,” she shared.

TAGUIG CITY–To deliver health services to its residents in the EMBO barangays after Makati backtracked from its commitment to vacate the health centers in these areas, the City of Taguig brought its Love Caravan to Brgy. West Rembo on Saturday, October 7.

The mobile health center with integrated services will make rounds in other EMBO barangays in the coming weeks, and thus bring the city’s services closer to its residents.

“Kilala po ang ating administrasyon sa pagiging Loving at Caring sa kanyang mga mamamayan. Hindi po natin gusto na palaging pinapapunta ang tao sa atin, ang gobyerno sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Taguig ang siyang talagang bumababa sa mga barangay at inaabot ang ating mga purok, dahil ang gusto po natin maramdaman ng mga residente na tayo po ay handang magmalasakit at tumugon sa mga pangangailangan,” said Mayor Lani in her message.

Taguigueños residing in EMBO areas can now easily access a wide range of free medical services, including consultations, OB-Gyne services for pregnant women and those with gynecological problems, pharmacy services, and diagnostics and laboratory services such as CBC, urinalysis, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), blood typing, Chest X-ray, ECG, and ultrasound.

Additionally, the mobile health center provides vital healthcare services such as free maintenance medicines and flu quadrivalent vaccinations for senior citizens, pregnant women, individuals with comorbidities, and healthcare workers. HPV vaccines are also available for ages 9 to 14.

For dental care, residents have access to tooth extraction and pharmacy services. Furthermore, nutrition services are being offered featuring cooking demonstrations of healthy meals and distribution of vegetables and other essential ingredients.

The Love Caravan also facilitates the registration and distribution of IDs for Persons with Disabilities through the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO) and for Senior Citizens through the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).

The City Social Welfare and Development (CSWDO) gives out wheelchairs, crutches, and burial assistance, and helps with the registration with Philhealth ng Masa.

The Love Caravan also accepts applications under the L.A.N.I. Cares Program which provides health and other support to the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable sectors of the city.

Hermie Cardinal, a 73-year-old resident from Barangay West Rembo who availed of medical services during the program, expressed his gratitude to Mayor Lani for her love and care for the new EMBO residents.

“Maraming-maraming salamat sa mga serbisyong ibinibigay ninyo sa aming mga bagong residente ng Taguig. Ang serbisyo na aming nakikita ay maayos, systematic, at kusang lumalapit sa amin,” he added.

For her part, 57-year-old Vilma Fabros, who is also a person with disability, expressed how helpful Taguig’s programs and services are to its new EMBO residents, making them feel warmly welcomed by the City.

“Para sa mga bagong Taguig tulad namin, madali po para sa amin ang makakuha ng mga benepisyo na nagmumula sa Taguig. Nakakatulong po siya sa amin, kasi bago pa lang po kami at mas maganda po kasi kayo po yung lumalapit talaga sa amin.. Ramdam po namin na welcome kami sa Taguig kasi nagri-reach out po kayo sa amin,” Vilma said.

About 2,000 residents were served by the Love Caravan today.

The schedules of the Taguig Love Caravan are posted regularly on the I Love Taguig Facebook page.
