CITY OF MALOLOS—Considered Bulacan’s oldest quality health care private hospital and located at the very heart of the province capital city, Sacred Heart of Malolos launches “Kulay Puso,” its first ever fun run to help raise funds for its medical missions in September.

Ava Estrella, marketing and promotions head of SHM said the hospital will celebrate its 55th year founding anniversary on September 1 through a grand medical mission to help provide at par quality health care to most needy Bulakenyo communities.

The Kulay Puso Fun Run which also promotes healthy lifestyle will be held on May 13 starting at 4:00 a.m. and is open to everyone including students. Medals and goodies await the winners in 10, 5, 3 and 1 kilometres (km) categories.

All the participants will converge at 4:00 a.m. at the Malolos City Hall Convention and Sports Center. The 10km runners will have a gun start at 5:00 a.m. to reach the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Barangay Tikay. Participants for the 5km will have their gun start at 5:30 a.m. and have to reach Land Bank of the Philippines, while those in 3km categories will leave the Malolos Convention at 5:40 a.m. until they reach Sacred Heart of Malolos Hospital and the 1km category must leave at 5:42 a.m. to reach Graceland Mall.

Deadline for the registration is tomorrow, May 10.

Estrella appealed to motorists to bear with the activity. The police, she said, will release a traffic re-routing scheme advisory before the event.

Medical doctor couple Alberto and Juanita Reyes, both of Malolos founded the hospital on September 1, 1968 at then bungalow type facility in the exact place where the hospital still stands today in Barangay Guinhawa in this city.

Over the years, SMH has gained recognition as the best private hospital in Bulacan located at the center of this city because of its quality medical care through medical professionals and experts in all fields, modern and high technology facilities and accessibility.

Estrella said the thrust of the SHM is to give the utmost health care it can to the Bulakenyos within their reach without the need to travel to Metro Manila.

Today, its buildings and facilities are one of the symbols of Malolos and Bulacan’s progress and development.

SHM is a 97 bed capacity Level 2 hospital that has been recognized by the Philippine Hospital Association for its Commitment to community service through quality health care. It was also awarded the Best Private Hospital in Region 3 by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation in 2018.
