CITY OF MALOLOS – For thesecond time around, Bulakenyo footballers under 7 years to 40 years old and above played and had fun playing football during the Second Singkaban Football Festival held at the Bulacan Sports Complex, Brgy. Bagong Bayan in this city on Sunday

The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Youth, Sports, and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO), the event’s organizer, aims to promote the sport, branding football as the sport for all.

Out of the 39 football teams who competed under nine categories, the Culiat Foot Club won the championship for the U7 category; Pinoy Wolves for the U9 category; Pilman Football Club for the U11 and U13 categories; Pinoy Wolves for the U15 and U18 categories; St. Agatha Kickers for the 40 and Above category; Metro Agila for the Women’s FC and Liceria A for Men’s Open.

All the winning teams including first to third runners up each received gold medals and trophies for the teams while special awards were also given including the MVP award, Golden Booth, Best Midfielder, Best Defender, Best Goalkeeper, and Fair Play for each category.

As a two-time participant in the football festival, Morena E. Mallorca, 22, team Pinoy Wolves FC, expressed her gratitude to the PGB for keeping the Football Festival as part of the celebration of Singkaban Festival.

“Sumali po ako dito sa Second Singkaban Football Festival para maipamalas po ‘yung skills namin, para po mas ma-enhance ‘yung skills naming mga manlalaro ng football sa lalawigan. Kaya po maraming salamat kay Gov. Daniel R. Fernando at Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro sa pagkakaroon ng ganitong aktibidad, nagkakaroon pa po ng pagkakataon ang mga player na maipamalas ‘yung husay nila,” Mallorca said.

In his message, Atty. Jayric V. Amil, OIC of PYSPESO, said that Bulacan is continuously thriving in the field of sports not only in the country but in the whole world and that PGB will keep on giving opportunities to Bulakenyo players.

“Layunin nitong patuloy na magbigay daan para sa ating mga kalalawigan na mahasa at malinang ang kanilang mga kakayahan at disiplina sa iba’t ibang larangan ng palakasan na naaangkop sa layunin ng nasabing selebrasyon na ipinagdiriwang ang kultura, pagmamahal sa lalawigan at talento ng mga Bulakenyo,” Atty. Amil said.
