Businessman army officer killed in Angat town

ANGAT, Bulacan—A Philippine Army (PA) officer who is engaged in trucking and quarry business was shot dead by unidentified lone gunman on Saturday in this town.

Bulacan police director Col. Relly Arnedo identified the victim as Maj. Dennis Moreno, 41, an active member of PA assigned at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Command General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo.

Moreno, a resident of Barangay San Roque this town was shot four times at about 5:45 p.m. inside his trucking garage compound in Barangay Marungko. He was rushed to a hospital in the town but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Angat police chief Maj. Mark Anthony San Pedro said Moreno, who owns the SEM278 Enterprise trucking and quarry business was sitting in a chair outside his office in the said compound and was making himself a cup of coffee when an armed lone suspect suddenly approached him and fired successive shots.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the abdomen, San Pedro said.

The suspect then walked casually towards his service motorcycle who he parked 50 meters away from the trucking garage of the victim.
