PULILAN, Bulacan—A motorist was wounded after an unidentified armed man shot him while both of them were traversing the southbound lane of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in this town on Sunday.

Bulacan Police Director Col. Relly Arnedo identified the victim as Aries Magayanes, 42, a videographer from Barangay Pag-asa, Binanginan, Rizal.

Magayanes was driving his Nissan Terra SUV registered as GAX 2732 along the southbound lane of NLEX in Barangay Dampol 2nd in this town at around 4:35 pm when an unidentified armed man on board a still unknown vehicle successively fired shots on him.

The attack happened near the Pulilan exit, says Col. Jerome Jay Ragonton, Pulilan police chief.

The victim’s vehicle then crashed in the steel side railings along the emergency shoulder of the highway.

According to Ragonton, the victim came from Ilocos Sur.

NLEX Investigator, Peter Paul Viray who responded on a call of a vehicular accident in the area found bullet holes on the window of the driver’s seat of the Nissan Terra.

He then reported the incident to Pulilan police.

The victim was brought to Bulacan Medical Center in City of Malolos Bulacan for medical treatment but was transferred in a hospital in Manila and is now in a stable condition, Ragonton also said.

The police are still conducting investigation and gathering Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footages in the area to identify the culprit.

They are also looking into all possible motives in the attack, the chief of police added.
