MARILAO, Bulacan–Police arrested six telephone cable wire thieves while stealing P2.7 million worth of facilities in a telephone company in this town on Thursday. 


Bulacan Police Director Col. Charlie Cabradilla identified the arrested as Mark Christopher Esteron, 31, from Commonwealth Quezon City; Randolfh Orejudos, 29 from Camarin Caloocan City; Daniel Aňasco, 19, from Pasong Putik Quezon City; Junfel Bryan Lagrido, 33, from Rodriguez, Rizal; Joeven Libaoco, 33, from City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan and Raymond Salvador, 32 from Bagumbong, Caloocan City. 


The group where caught by Marilao police red handed stealing the telephone cable wires of Racitel Company Inc. in Barangay Saog, Marilao at about 6:30 p.m. 


Racitel roving guard Samuel Velasco noticed the suspicious presence of the group and immediately reported it to the police. Responding police caught them stealing the wires using bolt cutters and saw. 


Cabradilla said 770 meters of telephone line wires worth P2.7 million were recovered from the group who all worked with RNR  Telecom, a sub contractor firm in Saranay, Caloocan City.


Col. Bernardo Pagaduan, Marilao police chief said the group had been preying on telecom firms in Caloocan City, Quezon City and Bulacan. 


They have been involved in the criminal activity as their “sideline” earning, he said.


The suspects can earn P30-P40,000 per 100 meters from the bronze extracted from the telephone cable lines by selling them to dealers, Pagaduan added. 


Also recovered were 200 pairs of 22 guage cable wires with estimated length of 350 meters, three units ladder, one set toolbox and two units Suzuki Carry FB Van bearing plate nos. RFW 283 and NET 9819.

Charges of theft had been filed against them.
