CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan—Police seized an estimated P170.060 worth of illegal drugs from 8 drug suspects while 9 illegal gamblers were also arrested in anti-criminality operations on Saturday.

Bulacan Police Director Col. Relly Arnedo said a successful drug sting operation by City of San Jose del Monte police station in Barangay Graceville resulted to the arrest of a lone drug suspect who yielded 7 sachets of suspected marijuana and 2 bricks of suspected dried marijuana worth P90,000.00, along with marked money.

Similarly, the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Sta. Maria, Bustos, City of Malolos, Plaridel, Calumpit, and Pulilan resulted to the arrest of 7 illegal drug suspects who yielded 30 sachets of suspected shabu worth P80,600 including 5 sachets of marijuana.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit (PFU) for appropriate examination, while criminal complaints for violations of R.A. 9165 against the suspects had been prepared for filing in court.

On the other hand, different anti-illegal gambling operations conducted by City of San Jose del Monte, Norzagaray, and San Ildefonso police resulted in the arrest of 9 illegal gamblers.

They were caught in the act of playing an illegal card game (tong-its) and cara y cruz. Additionally, an individual was also arrested for the act of collecting bets intended for STL without any identification card or certification from STL Franchise authorizing him to collect bets. Confiscated evidence was one 1 set of playing cards, STL booklets, and bet money in different denominations.
